Dove Awards :: the production breakdown

Here’s a detailed look @ the production breakdown for “VJ world” @ the Dove Awards.

>> MAIN SCREEN:

- MacBook Pro running ProVideoPlayer, resolution output set to 1280×960, PVP display output set to 1220×650. (i know this seems weird, but we had to create a letterbox’d scenario for reasons i don’t care to go into, and this weird resolution made the content fit perfectly on the screen.)

- Folsom ImagePro – outputting 1280×960 via SDI to the broadcast truck, which controlled the main screen.

- 400 feet of SDI (over coax)

- OWC Mercury Elite Pro 1.5 terabyte external hard drive (for VJ content)

- LaCie 1TB external hard drive running Time Machine backup

- 1 projector (brought in by someone else…i think it was 12000 lumens, there was also a backup fired up and ready to go at all times)

>> VIDEO TOWERS:

- MacBook Pro running ProVideoPlayer, resolution on hardware & PVP set to 1920×480

- PVP settings went back and forth from 0 to 90 degrees simple orientation, with Tiling toggled on/off (3 columns) & grid mapping set to column 2 of 3 depending on content.

- Matrox TripleHead2Go Digital Edition

- OWC Mercury Elite Pro 1.5 terabyte external hard drive (for VJ content)

- three runs of 300′ RGBHV cable, converting to VGA on both ends

- Extron 8×8 Matrix Switcher (took the 300 RGBHV runs and outputted via 100 feet more of RGBHV to the tower projectors)

- 6 Panasonic projectors, 5500 lumens each (don’t ask me model numbers)

(the towers were mirrored, however we flipped the projectors on one of them so the content would be flipped._

Thank you to Elite Multimedia & The Production Solutions Group for providing projectors, clamps, cables, the ImagePro & Matrix box. Thank you to Renewed Vision for the ProVideoPlayer licenses and for your support throughout the years.
