Kris Allen (American Idol) leads “God of This City”

Now this is just COOL.

i’ve never gotten into American Idol before, but i am proud of Kris b/c he’s from Conway, AR, just two hours from where i grew up. and even more glad to know that he’s a worship leader.

The video footage features Little Rock & shots from Central Arkansas…i love seeing visual media native to a local church used during worship.
My friend at GivMusic posted this today and told me about it. i’ve been working with GivMusic on some videos for Bluetree surrounding the song “God of This City” , and once they are ready for public viewing, i’ll be sure to post them and share a really cool personal story about my connection with that song and Pattaya, Thailand.

  3. When we recorded that helicopter footage, along with the center screen animations, city timelapse, etc. – it all came together nicely. Visuals played nicely with the song – not too overpowering.

    So proud of Kris.

  4. neil – are you on staff at New Life? did you have a hand it shooting that footage?
    i have been driving through Conway for years (went to U of A in Fayetteville) and have family in Rogers. I’ll be coming through in June sometime…we should connect. I’d love to see your setup. and we can eat at Marketplace Grill, too.

  5. Yessir. I’m on staff here and we shot that aerial footage in August of last year. We spent about 6 hours in a helicopter getting footage of downtown LR, Conway, UCA, NLC’s new building…and a lot more.

    We should definitely talk, I’d love it. And if there’s anything better than Marketplace Grill…I haven’t found it yet.
