Shiny Buildings
So we saw the world was broken,
So we built our sturdy walls.
Only pieces fit inside them,
Separation for us all.
Art and architecture
Purposed all to point to Something Else,
Slowly turning into stages
Where we’re pointing to ourselves.
When we saw the world was broken,
We built our sturdy walls:
Shiny buildings filled with flat screen TVs
And all you could want.
We made politics and doctrine
For our children to employ;
Made our faith much like our walls,
If there’s a hole, it’s all destroyed.
If you’re lucky you will find us
And will learn to sound the same,
But if you should fail to hear it,
you will surely feel the flames.
Shiny buildings filled with flat screen TVs
And all you could want.
I helped build it never knowing
that my God might never fit.
I helped build it never knowing
that my God might never fit.
